Food Jungle legal
Privacy notice
What personal information Food Jungle collects, why it is needed, who sees it, and the rights you hold over it.
Version 2026-07-30.draft-1 · last changed 30 July 2026
1. What we collect
Account details: your phone number, the name you choose to display, and your language preference.
Order details: the items you order, the shop, collection notes, the name and phone number you give for collection, and the order's status history.
Location: the service area you select, and — only if you allow it — your device's approximate position, used to sort nearby shops.
Device and technical data: pages requested, error reports, and a request trace identifier used for support.
2. Why we need it
To take, route, and track your order, and to let the shop identify you at collection.
To send order updates over WhatsApp, SMS, or push, and to send the security message that signs you in.
To detect fraud and abuse, and to meet record-keeping and tax obligations.
PLACEHOLDER: the lawful basis for each purpose must be confirmed by counsel against the Zimbabwe Data Protection Act.
3. Who sees it
The shop you order from sees your collection name, your order, and the phone number needed to reach you about that order.
Message and payment infrastructure providers process what is needed to deliver a message.
Food Jungle support staff can see an order when you raise a case about it. Full phone numbers are revealed to platform staff only inside an open support case; elsewhere they are shown as the last four digits.
We do not sell personal information.
4. How long we keep it
Order records are kept while your account is open and afterwards for the period required by tax and accounting rules.
Message logs and sign-in challenges are kept for a short operational period and then deleted.
PLACEHOLDER: exact retention periods must be confirmed against the retention schedule and by counsel.
5. Your rights
You can export your data and close your account from your account page. Closing anonymises your personal details on records we must keep.
You can ask us to correct anything wrong, and you can turn off marketing messages at any time. Security and order notices stay on.
PLACEHOLDER: the data-protection officer's name and contact address, and the POTRAZ complaint route, must be inserted before publication.
6. Changes to this notice
This notice is versioned. A material change publishes a new version and asks you to accept it before you continue to order.
